About us

Your home is unique.

Shouldn’t your kitchen be too?

Every Cutler & Berry Kitchen is a one-off

Commission us to design, build and fit your kitchen and you will never find another that looks or feels the same. We specialise in creating rooms with a timeless finish and feel that perfectly fit your home and the way you want to live.

As a small team, we take pride in the deeply personal service we give our clients. It’s a combination of small details, such as the complementary repaint on your installation anniversary. Or the way we keep you updated on your project’s progress at each stage. We’re a world away from larger companies with their teams of volume-focused salespeople and hierarchical management teams. Read on to learn more about who we are.

Our Story

Cutler & Berry Kitchens was founded by Matt, Dan and Con – a kitchen designer and a father-son duo of cabinet makers. Matt and Dan first met many years ago while working on a luxury kitchen installation with a well-regarded kitchen maker. Their shared love of a job well done and complementary personalities meant the pair instantly hit it off.

After 12 years of working for other high-end kitchen makers, Matt and Dan established Cutler & Berry Kitchens with the simple aspiration of combining their skills to create luxury kitchens with a timeless appeal. Dan’s dad – Con – joined the team adding his extensive knowledge to the business. They chose to site their workshop in Kent and studio in Guildford, reinforcing their already strong connections to the Home Counties. With two bases, the team are well-placed to provide clients across the South East and into London with their impeccably beautiful kitchens.

Bespoke Designs

Tucked away on a cobbled alley off Guildford high street is our studio, the place where Matt creates designs using a combination of space planning and classic design principles. As a former interior designer, he drafts beautifully proportioned and well-considered kitchen designs that combine practicality with aesthetics. Having spent many years designing for homes in the local area with well-regarded kitchen makers, he has an enviable eye for detail and appreciation of what turns an average kitchen into an incredible kitchen.

Workshop

Our Kent workshop – a treasure trove of well-worn tools, sawdust curls and timber – is where Dan and Col create our beautiful cabinetry. Here, they combine traditional British joinery with the finest materials to create enduring kitchens that will last a lifetime. As well as sourcing and selecting each piece of wood used to create our kitchens, Dan and Con carefully craft every door and frame, dovetailed drawer box and custom moulding, for a kitchen that is truly bespoke and fits your space perfectly.

Ethos

We founded Cutler & Berry with one simple idea. Creating truly bespoke kitchens and cabinetry that prioritise exceptional design and heritage techniques ahead of speed and vast profits. We remain intentionally small, working on a select number of projects each year so we can focus on fulfilling our three core values:

Strong Foundations. Every kitchen we create has the perfect combination of practicality and aesthetics for a breathtaking kitchen that’s a delight to use.

Meticulous Craftsmanship. We use only the finest materials and traditional techniques to handcraft our kitchens. We never use pre-made carcasses, doors or detailing.

An Exceptional Experience. Investing in a hand-built kitchen is a substantial decision. We go out of our way to make the design, build, and installation of our kitchens exciting and positive with great communication throughout.

At your Convenience

We meet our clients on an appointment-only basis – either in our Guildford workshop or at another convenient location. This means we can give you our undivided attention without the interruption you might get in a high street showroom, and allows you the choice of meeting time – whether that’s during traditional business hours, in the evening or at weekends. Get in touch with us to ask questions or book your initial consultation.
